Recent technical history of OTBioTalk

The OTBioelettronica Sessantaquattro is a portable system for high density (64 channels) EMG detection.

Date Version Summary
12/2023 1.03
  1. This version of OTBioTalk now supports the new Sessantoquattro+ hardware. It also has a new built-in dialog for configuring the Sessantaquattro, and the process of finishing off sampling has been improved to avoid possible problems when sampling a second time.
  2. The talker uses improved mechanisms to generate more accurate timing drift information for the host and to select the first data point saved, avoiding using excessive processor time.
  3. The host connection mechanism has been adjusted to allow it to connect to the host without having a hardware connection.
07/2023 1.02
OTBioTalk now supports sampling with a Quattrocento including a triggered start to sampling. Sampling of 16-bit data with the Sessantaquattro now works correctly. The talker internals have been extensively revised to improve robustness and prevent various problems. OTBioTalk now supports the new TalkerPath command.

We have tested this version 1.02 successfully with a Quattrocento but have not yet been able to test completely on a Sessantaquattro, though we believe that it is correct.

12/2021 1.01
It was possible for the talker to become unusable if you tried sampling again soon after stopping, as the Sessantaquattro was reconnecting in the background, because it cannot sample multiple times. This is now handled differently, and the talker will no longer need restarting if this happens.
11/2021 1.00
  1. The talker supports sampling with the Sessantaquattro in all of the default modes, which can be changed in the usual way.
  2. The talker requires version 5 of the talker specification, which is included in the latest updates of Spike2 versions 8, 9 and 10.
